Maishul and Lucy

Oh man, I kinda like this piece. Though I admit that I need to get away from 500x500 dimensions, but one step at a time.

Ok. This is for the web comic, Bittersweet Candy-bowl. This comic and I have a very love-hate relationship. Yes, this will be a rant kinda.

This comic has been placed on my personal favorites list for its comedy and the fact that it vaguely resembles how my life went in junior high onward, but only to a certain degree. When it does, though, it hits quite close to home. When the Cerberus syndrome struck, the similarities ended until I began to realize that the similarities didn't go away, but actually shifted to a different character. So I've grown to love this comic by association (of sorts).

Lucy, she deserved it. I do not sympathize with her. She used her best friend as a cushion that she abused until it tore. Now, don't get me wrong, I don't hate that character. It's just I really don't like her dependent attitude. She lost her pillow, so she started going for the next person to show her kindness. This chain will continue until she can really stand on her own. I don't really find issue with her not ending up with Micheal, but I want the relationship that she might get into not be one out of convenience for her. Michael'll come around as a friend or more when she learns to rely on herself, in my opinion. Though, my cynical side rather loves her fall from grace. It's like a slow motion train wreck, tragic, but you can't look away.
